Memorial Day is a very special day. It is a day we take time to honor the ones who have given their lives for our country. As Americans, we celebrate this holiday in many different ways. Interestingly, many of the Memorial Day traditions such as cookouts, lake trips, and parades are all delightful activities. I believe this is how our fallen troops would wish to have this special day celebrated. Americans spending time with family and friends, and never forgetting the sacrifice that was given to do so.
Equipcare will be closed Monday, May 28 in honor of Memorial Day.

Equip Care is all about honoring the caregivers in our world today. Today, May 8th, is a day our country has dedicated to honoring one of our main caregivers while growing up, teachers. Whether it be writing our recommendation letters or coming to our sports games, teachers always have the best interest in mind for their students.
Thank you teachers for all that you do for our kids!!
As you all probably know, Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Mothers play such a key role during our lives simply because they are our natural primary caregiver. However, the older they get the more we become their caregiver. One way we can offer our care to our mother, grandmother, or loved one is by Freedom Alert. Freedom Alert is a wearable device that allows your loved one to contact 911, you, or any other programmed numbers during an emergency. This is a gift you can purchase that doesn’t only benefit the person who wears Freedom Alert, but the person who gives the gift as well. It offers peace knowing that your loved one can contact help at anytime. Facebook Post
Have you ever noticed when a caregiver goes to offer assistance to an elderly person, they often reject help? This could be for a number of reasons! However, the most likely cause of this is the simple reason that elderly people do not want to be dependent on someone or something. Most elderly people were raised in a generation where if you wanted something done you did it yourself. The majority still feel this way, although their body disagrees.
Most caregivers today have realized this and taken it into consideration! It is good to give elderly people their space, and make them feel independent!
